My name is Emily Tomlinson, and I’m currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in graphic design at Drexel University. I’m in my senior year in the program and will be graduating this upcoming spring. During my time at Drexel, I went through a curriculum that immersed me in different types of design, styles, and even history. It also allowed me to develop my own style into what it is today. I’ve done projects such as publication designs, package design, branding, and basic HTML/CSS. These have all helped put together a strong portfolio. My portfolio helped me land a Social Media Co-Op with Janell Wysock Textile for 6 months. I kept the online presence of the brand up to date with current trends and created exceptional online and print deliverables. After my Co-Op I started to focus on my interest within the field to add to my portfolio. I gravitated towards publication and printmaking when figuring out my interest. Within these types of design, I gained more interest in the layouts of magazines and the ways a book cover conveys a story. Throughout my last couple terms of senior year, I was able to add a few more publication designs to my portfolio.
